Pricing & Payment
The cost of hiring our hot dog van ranges from £8 to £15 per head, depending on the number of guests. For groups under 25 people, a minimum charge of £350 applies.
The price includes one hot dog per person from our standard menu. But we always bring a few extra portions for anyone who wants seconds.
We ask for a 50% deposit to secure your booking. This deposit is fully refundable up to two weeks before your event, and after that we retain it. The remaining balance is due on or shortly after the event.
Licensing & Paperwork
In order to trade safely and according to law, any food retailer (including food trucks) that sells food to the public has to be registered with the local authority and be subject to inspections that ensure good hygiene practices are upheld. Additionally, event organisers require proof of other certification such as business insurance and certificates that ensure your gas equipment and electrical installations comply with safety standards.
We carry everything required by law, including relevant licences and business insurance. We are inspected to the same standards as restaurants by York City Council and additionally we carry the following certificates and documents:
- RAMS
- Gas Safe certificate
- Fire extinguisher certificate
- Fire risk assessment
- EICR
- PAT
- COSHH
- Environmental impact policy
- SFBB
Menu & Dietary Options
We serve our classic hot dog menu using our standard range of toppings. You can customise the menu if needed, though additional charges may apply.
We can provide vegetarian and vegan hot dogs, but although our sausage is gluten free, we cannot guarantee gluten-free due to cross-contamination risks from carrying normal bread products.
Yes, we can tailor menus or themes on request, including customised branding options. Please get in touch to discuss your ideas.
No, we only do hot dogs.
Capacity & Logistics
We can cater for small gatherings of fewer than 50 guests, and we can also handle large parties of 300 or more. For festivals, we can typically serve around 150 hot dogs per hour when taking individual payments.
We do not need a water supply, as we bring our own. We only require access to electricity if the event goes on after dusk for lighting.
Our food truck is 3.4 metres long (including the tow bar), lightweight, and extremely manoeuvrable. We can set up indoors or outdoors without issue.
Event Details & Flexibility
We work at weddings (especially evening receptions, hen and stag dos), private parties, birthday celebrations for all ages, village fetes, food festivals, and large-scale events such as music festivals.
We stay for as long as you need, based on arrangements made beforehand. Extensions are possible if discussed in advance.
We do not supply any beverages, so please arrange drinks separately.
Yes. We can personalise signage, for example "Happy Birthday" or "Mr & Mrs", or add a custom vinyl graphic for special occasions.
Please book at least one week in advance. If your event falls during a busy period or if you expect large numbers, book as early as possible to ensure availability.
Booking
No. Our quoted price includes everything, with no additional charges.
We need to know the number of guests, the location, the date and type of event, such as a wedding, party or festival, and any dietary requirements, for example vegetarian or vegan.
Yes. We are happy to cater on weekdays and can also cover events at any hour by prior arrangement.
Dry Hire
Yes. You can dry hire our empty food truck, with flexible branding options to match your identity. It is strictly for promotional use only, such as brand activations, product sampling and other pop-up events.
